ABOUT RUHALI
About Us
Ruhali turns photographs into works of art. We believe the things worth remembering should not stay buried at the bottom of a camera roll.
Why we built this
Everyone has tens of thousands of photos. They sit quietly on a phone, sorted by date, scrolled past occasionally, then buried again by newer ones. Yet a few of them carry far more weight than a thumbnail can hold — a parent in their twenties, the day a child first spoke, a cat that is no longer here.
Ruhali gives those photographs a different medium. Not retouching, not a filter, but a different artistic language — the same face looked at again, in another century and another brushstroke. A painting on a wall is seen every day; a photo in a camera roll is often not opened for years.
Three principles
We do not alter memory
No beautification, no face swapping, no turning you into someone else. What you get is how you look in that manner of painting — the face is still yours, only redrawn in another hand. The style may change; the person does not.
A style is a method, not a filter
Every style has its own prompt, reference images and logic of light. Renaissance painting has its raking light, ink wash its deliberate emptiness, gongbi its precise line. Reducing them to a single slider would disrespect the craft and shortchange the user.
Your photos are yours
Photographs you upload are used only to generate your own artwork. We do not use your private photos for public display, for sale, or to train externally offered models. The artwork belongs to you — download it, print it, take it with you.
How it works
Choose a photograph from your album and a style. The system reads the pose, the light and the composition, then paints it again in that style. It usually takes a few minutes, and the result can be downloaded, printed and framed.
The library follows art history in three families: Classical (Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism, Impressionism), Eastern aesthetics (Ming-Qing court painting, gongbi, ink wash, Song painting, Dunhuang murals, Tang style) and Modern (black-and-white film, Republican-era retro, Art Deco, Pop, minimalism). Each family keeps growing.
Where to use it
Ruhali is available as a WeChat Mini Program and on the web, sharing one account and one set of artworks. The Mini Program suits picking a photo on your phone and sharing it; the website needs no download or install, and suits sitting down to browse styles and print the result.
The first artwork is free for new users. After that, credits are charged per artwork, varying by style. The exact cost is shown before generation.
