Ruhali
Frequently asked questions
How to use Ruhali, which photos to upload, pricing and privacy are covered here. Still unsure? Reach the support team inside the WeChat mini program.
What is Ruhali and how do I use it?
Ruhali is a WeChat mini program that turns photos into artworks. The steps are simple: upload a portrait, a family photo or a pet, choose an art style (classical oil painting, gongbi, ink wash, Dunhuang murals, and more), confirm, then wait for the result — you can save and download your own art portrait.
Which photos work best?
Sharp, front-facing portraits taken in natural light give the most stable results. Family photos and pet photos work as well. We recommend avoiding heavy facial obstruction, heavy blur or very dark shots. The result depends on the original photo and the style you choose.
How much does Ruhali cost? Is there a free tier?
Ruhali charges in credits or generations, depending on style and resolution. Every new user gets a first free generation, so you can try a work before paying. Current prices are shown inside the mini program.
Do the results have a watermark? How do I get the HD version?
Previews and share images carry a light watermark to protect the work. Watermark-free HD versions can be unlocked with the corresponding benefit in the mini program. The watermark is for display and anti-abuse only and does not affect your own use of the artwork.
Are my photos and privacy safe?
Ruhali processes your photo only to the extent needed to generate the artwork, and stores, uses and protects it in line with our privacy policy. Please do not upload photos containing other people’s sensitive information or rights; minors need guardian consent.
How long does it take? What subjects are supported?
It usually takes a few minutes, and a little longer at peak times. Portraits, family photos and pets are all supported. If a generation fails, credits or generations are returned according to the rules, so you can retry or use another photo.
